Ross Thomas recommends
Hammett (1975) Joe Gores "Not since Hammett and Chandler has anyone written quite as well as Joe Gores." | Body Scissors (1990) (Tom Bethany, book 1) Jerome Doolittle "Body Scissors landed Jerome Doolittle in the front rank of political thriller novelists. Written with wit, zest and insight, it’s one of the best novels about political skullduggery I’ve read in a long time. And his hero, Tom Bethany, is an irascible gem." |
