A novel by

Simon likes to think of himself as a hard man and he's not about to stand by and watch his mum get ripped off by a smooth estate agent. Nor is he going to lose the love of his life - even if she happens to be his best mate's woman - without a fight. The mate, Ollie, is too busy collecting debts and milking muddled old J W Morgan for money to 'dispose of' his ex-wife's new husband (a perverted German surveillance expert called Rolph) to notice. And Lucy the journalist oscillates between a snide lesbian colleague, her evil junky brother and her married estate agent lover. Who, in turn, is trying to get Simon's mother to sell her house... When these disparate individuals collide, it's Grief. John B Spencer died in 2002, aged just 57. This is his final and greatest novel.
