When Dalton arrives in White Plains the townsfolk are on edge after a spree of unsolved murders. With the finger of suspicion pointing at everyone, Modesty Adams is nearly lynched, so Dalton is tasked with escorting the young woman to safety in a nearby town.
Dalton succeeds in his mission, but Modesty is then gunned down. Dalton vows to avenge the young woman’s death, but when yet more victims are found and the mystery about the killer’s motive deepens, he will need all his courage to deliver justice.
