Clayton Hawks has returned to Powder Springs, Wyoming, with his fiancee and her mother to settle some rustling problems on the Lazy B Ranch. Clay's father, who stayed behind in Boston, has offered him the ranch in return for his help. What Clay finds is mismanagement, corruption and lawlessness, but he can't agree with the usual methods of solving problems in the West. What his fiancee, Penny, finds is an inordinate attraction to the raucous wagon boss of the Lazy B. In time the timid young woman from Boston who loves the freedom of the West will become known as the queen of the rustlers.
