L. Frank Baum, most famous as the author of 'The Wizard of Oz' and thirteen additional volumes in the Oz series, wrote numerous other works for children. When he was at the height of his creative powers, he wrote the delightful short stories he called "Animal Fairy Tales." These were first published from January through September, 1905, in a popular magazine, "The Delineator." The first edition of "Animal Fairy Tales" was in 1969 that sold out and became much sought after by Baum collectors.
