The Defiance begins as Admiral Wolf Brim leads a combat flight against the Torond, enemies of the Avalon Empire. At Imperial Fleet Base Atalanta, Brim is given a new assignment to secure the space lanes between Hador-Haelic and the Pentad asteroids of Gontor. Having secured the asteroid bases, the EMpire would be able to launch Operation Spark, thus insuring the Empire's only remaining source of travel fuel.
