Dinbig of Khimmur

(The first book in the Firstworld Chronicles series)
(1991)
A novel by

Philip G Williamson

Ronbas Dinbig is a sucessful merchant-adverturer , spy , accomplished womanizer and Foreign Minister to the Royal Court of Khimmur. A man of many talents , he tells us modestly , for he is capable of leaving his body and entering the Realms of Non-Being where he interacts with the spirit population. Ages of precarious deadlock between nations of Rull are coming to an end. A mysterious force is setting the Khimmur against its neighbours with cataclysmic consequences for the whole continent. Battles , skirmishes and deadly intrigue ensue. But the hand that pushes these once-peaceful countries towards tragic and bloody confrontation is not that of any mere mortal.
