When she believes she has sufficient proof, Claire decides on the obvious course of action: She must kill her husband.

When theyreturned to the office, Claire called Melanie at her job to tell her it was on.

"BiotechIndustries..."

"Hey,girl.This is Claire."

"What'sup?What you doing?"

"I'm atwork," Claire said, "about to go to lunch."

"We shouldhook up for lunch sometimes," Melanie said.

"That wouldbe cool," Claire said."Except you workin Grand Prairie."

"We couldmeet in the middle."

"If I droveto Arlington, I'd have to turn right back around as soon as I got there."

"We could-"

"Melanie, Ididn't call to chit chat."

"Oh, wellwhat's up then?"

"It's on," Claire said.

"What's on?"

"Thestakeout."

"For real?"

"Yeah,"Claire said."It's on.Becky wants to go too."

"Cool!You must have put on your big girl drawers this morning.What changed your mind?"

"When Georgecame home late last night, he smelled like afresh shower."

"I toldyou."

"Don't saythat.We still might be wrong."

"Maybe,"Melanie said."If we are; no harmdone.But if we're not, we're gonna get his ass.I wanna run up on him with a camera, likethey do on Cheaters."

Clairelaughed, but none of this was funny.What they were joking about may very well be the end of life as she knewit.

"We gonnaget his ass," Melanie said again.

"Don'tforget," Claire said, "we want to find him doing nothing wrong.If he's cheating, that's like, the worst casescenario."
