The book opens at Greasy Ian's Kebab Shop, where the little black monkey turns the spit and the fat flies off it and the steam fills the air and Mr Gum licks his lips and tells Greasy Ian that there is nothing in the world like one of his rancid kebabs...Meanwhile poor Billy William, Lamonic Bibber's most revolting butcher, watches through the window - his best pal Mr Gum has found someone new, the two-timing, kebab-munching monster that he is...So Billy decides to exact revenge...Mr Gum retaliates...And before too long it's all-out war. This time Polly and the rest of our heroes must journey to London Town in search of the beautiful butcher otherwise known as Thora in a madcap plan to make Billy fall in love with her and forget his lonely woes. Will the plan work? Well, you'll see.
