In the Winter of 1881, the Reverend Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll) brings his new-found friend Dr Arthur Conan Doyle to London to meet one of his editors, Mr Bassett. But the editor is a loathsome sort, violently and viciously rejecting not only Doyle's work, but that of up-and-coming Irish writer Oscar Wild. When Bassett is murdered later that night, the police connect his death to the Labour Riots currently raging, and believe that Wilde is probably responsible. Convinced that Wilde is innocent, Dodgson and Doyle, with the help of artists James Whistler and John Tenniel, set out to find the truth.
