After her famous father's suicide, Elizabeth Dalton sails to England where, working with his official biographer, a handsome, older man whose motives in dealing with this project are suspect, in the ominous setting of a Gothic manor house, she discovers the secrets of her father's life in that same house when she was a child, including the horrible details of her mother's death, a murder which may await her, as well.
