Rusty Rhodes is chasing two outlaws through New Mexico Territory. From the town of Las Cruces, the two fugitives head south on the Jornado del Meurto, the Journey of Death Trail that winds south through some of the most desolate terrain he’s ever seen. He thinks he’s in uninhabited territory until his quarry turns into the Valley of Death, an even more forbidding stretch of ground, and he finds a settlement, Sundown, built around the only water for miles. Sundown is an outlaw town that has its own peculiar code and Rusty has to figure out how to break that code if he’s to have any chance of nabbing his bounty and getting out of Sundown alive.
