A terrifying scream echoed across the Northern Wales forest predicting another murder. Constable Goff, the first victim's husband, stood looking at another mutilated body. Gagging at the memory of seeing his wife's torn body, he turned toward Doc Kendrick. "Something is troubling me. Why would this creature rip out the throats and groins of all his kills yet only feast on cattle and not the people?"

Squatting, the doctor ran his finger along the gaping hole where the victim's throat had been. "Notice how the neck is torn out just above the adam's apple. I realized that the bites on the dead cattle were nearly twice as large as on the human's."

"Good Lord! Are ya suggestin' there is more than one beast?"

Nodding, Doc Kendrick said, "A large one that eats cattle and a smaller one that doesn't eat its victims but seems to kill for sport. We both know there hasn't been a wolf in Wales for years, so what are these beasts?"

Placing a blanket over the dead man, Constable Goff said, "It's time to call Daniel Barton, our White Hall agent."
