![]() | Drumfire / Buffalo War (1989) (A book in the Double Barrel Sundance series) An omnibus of novels by Peter McCurtin |
Drumfire. Sundance's order comes straight from General George Crook: Escort the hated Apache war chief Geronimo to what Crook has decided will be Geronimos new home in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma. It should be an easy assignment, but Geronimo escapes and Sundance finds himself stranded in a shack, surrounded by gunfire, with nothing but a five-shot revolver between him and a shallow grave. And in the same action-packed volume . . . Buffalo War. Josiah Moore's ruthless and well-armed hunting expedition has invaded the Staked Plains to kill off the last of the buffalo herds. But their presence on Indian land threatens to cause an all-out war. Desperate, General Crook calls in Sundance and tells him the only way to avoid a massacre is to drive Moore and his men off the Plains than done.
