"Slattery's back in town!" The cry sent fear and hate racing through the town. Five years before, on that same main street, a howling mob had dealt Slattery a nearly fatal beating for the murder they were sure he had committed. Long years in a savage federal prison had taught him to hate. Now he was back to clear his name or to take a lot of people to hell with him if he died trying.
