Katie married Rhodri three weeks after they met. When they were stationed in Germany, and suffering a poison-pen campaign, she realised that she didn't know her husband. When Rhodri also heard of the campaign, his reaction was unexpected. Back in England, Katie became involved in a local murder. In a Kentish spring, Patrick came back into her life. But she had to return to Germany to discover the identity of the poison-pen writer and the direction of her own future.
