Quarantined

Michael Williams followed in his father's footsteps, and joined the UEDF, the United Earth Defense Force, when he turned eighteen. His one year mission is over, he has a five weeks' leave before his next assignment, and he's looking forward to seeing Katy.

Of course, planning is what you do when life is happening around you, and the aliens finally make their move, and Michael is recalled. Instead of being sent to fight in the war like he'd expected, they have another little mission first. A trip to Eta Cassiopeiae A, a colony that isn't in the history books, full of humans that shouldn't exist. The planet and system is quarantined, for good reason, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Chances are, if they're to manage surviving the aliens, they'll need all the help they can get.
