(The fourth book in the Mantis series)
A novel by

The Big War, fought 800 years ago against the crab-like Uvaloothi, had ended with the human-built Daphrin Mega Stations driving the aliens back. Anyone who thought about it was going to wonder if the Uvaloothi would be coming back and, if so, how much would they have built up their forces in that span of time?

Mary Christmas Jones, bio engineered/cybernetically enhanced assassin, now Admiral of a fleet including her newly built flagship
Peacemaker has been thinking about that a lot. She knows the Uvaloothi will be back, sooner than anyone imagines. The Mega Stations still exist under the command of the leaders of Daphrin Corporation. She doesn't know if they will throw into the upcoming fight this time. There is speculation that Daphrin's leadership might not be human. They just might be the murderous aliens who had killed off practically their entire race.

What Admiral Jones would like to be able to pull off is retiring to a tropical paradise with her two girlfriends, enjoying adult beverages on a beach. While that's what she would like, her reality is very different.
