The middle of the Pacific Ocean, 1898.
The SS Maori was meant to be the finest liner in its class - "unsinkable". Now George Drury and Miss Margery Bute are trapped miles off course on a sinking ship. Most of the passengers are dead, and all hope seems lost...
In their darkest hour this unlikely pair are thrust together, defying the demands of their respective social classes and the inevitable scandal, in a final frantic bid for life.

Robert Cromie (1856-1907) was a visionary science fiction writer whose books are said to have influenced H.G. Wells and Jules Verne. His published works include The Crack of Doom, A Plunge Into Space and A New Messiah.
He lived in Belfast, just a few miles from the Harland and Wolff shipyard where the infamous Titanic was built and The Lost Liner carres a number of eerie parallels to the real-life disaster.
The Lost Liner has been unavailable in print anywhere since 1899. Over a century on, The Lost Liner sets sail once more in this new edition from Avalard - finally on course to reach the wider audience it deserves. It contains a new introduction from Diarmuid Kennedy.
