Adam Benson, crime reporter of the PHILADELPHIA BANNER, is sent to Miami after a big story concerning the escape from Cuba of Juan Jose Paros, an ex-Castro rebel who had clashed with his companions and gone into hiding when the new Government went Communist. In Miami, Benson is told the Paros story is dead, so he goes looking for Jill Payne, a British yachtswoman who has just crossed the Atlantic alone. And that's when trouble raises its ugly head - and he learns that Paros is very much alive...
