Alfie is desperate to go to the regatta but Hack, the surly stationhand is determined to keep him away. Thinking he has made Hack lose the rowing race, Alfie decides not to go back to the station and stays with a fortune-teller. When he returns, he realizes he helped Hack to win the race.
