Diane Zahler is the author of a novel for middle-grade readers, The Thirteenth Princess, based on the Grimm brothers' fairy tale "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" (HarperCollins Children's Books, Winter 2010). She has also written two history books for high-school students,The Black Death (Lerner, Spring 2009), a Junior Library Guild selection, and Than Shwe's Burma (Lerner, Fall 2009). She lives in New York's Harlem Valley with her husband, son, and dog.
