Sofia Walters is a woman with deep roots in Lawson Ridge. She is devastated when she moves back to take care of the family’s ranch after her mother’s passing. Bills are piling up and hasn’t done farm work in over a decade. Doubts start to settle in about whether or not she will be able to live up to the family legacy.
Brett Johnson’s dream is cut short when he sustains an injury that prevents him playing in MLB. Now he’s back in Lawson Ridge, and works as the ranch hand for Walters Farms. Being back has brought up much of his past, and he is ready to right his wrongs.
