Set in the earliest years of the twentieth century, this is the story of two marriages evolving from different social backgrounds. Central to the theme of love and tragedy are Rick Ferris, a business tycoon, and Kate Barrington whom he marries, whilst there is also the sadness of the union of Cassandra and Jon, heir to an aristocratic family.
