Imprisoned in the storm-world of Vulpecula, Kornephorous seeks a way to escape a sentence of solitude for illegal use of magic. His only companion, Morgann, a beautiful warrior captive, pours one of many strange concoctions into a vat of pure evil. From the resulting explosion, a strange and wonderful gem is created. Another accident uncovers the crystal's magical power to turn mirrored surfaces into portals, allowing Kornephorous to escape his desolate world. Kornephorous slowly learns how to control the gem and visits his estranged wife, the princess Nastilla, a witch of considerable power. In an exchange of magic, the crystal is broken. Half remains in the clutches of Kornephorous, while the other half falls though a hand-mirror and lands another dimension away in the bathroom of Alan Nonsense. Alan ventures through the glass mirror, finding himself face-to-face with the crazed wizard.
