This novel is set in a centre for the study of military excellence. One weekend a group of guests gather for the eve-of-Waterloo dinner, and to hear General Leo Makeshift deliver the annual lecture. Below stairs lurks a huge army of Third World sevants led by a lunatic butler. Murder is plotted.
