Evangeline Walton is regarded as one of modern masters of fantasy fiction. In addition to the Mabinogian novels, Walton was the author of the dark fantasy, Witch House, considered one of the classics of the genre. She was granted the Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Fantasy Convention in 1989.
