Colin Wilson's interest in H P Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos began with his chance introduction to The Outsider & Others, which led him to write about Lovecraft in The Strength to Dream, and in response to correspondence with August Derleth he wrote The Mind Parasites, his first venture into the Mythos. THE RETURN OF THE LLOIGOR was first published by Arkham House, USA, in 1969, in Tales of The Cthulhu Mythos, a collection of stories in tribute to the imaginative genius of the late H. P. Lovecraft.
