Laureen Vonnegut is an American writer living in Romania. Prior to living in Bucharest she lived in London, California, Mexico, Bulgaria and Hungary. She enjoys travelling, running, and harassing the Bucharest street dogs.

October 2006, her novel, OASIS, was launched in New York by literary press Counterpoint/ Perseus Books. Following the launch was a US book tour.
