Sasha Solomon, an unemployed PR director from Albuquerque, heads for Clovis, New Mexico, where she'll bid on a project for the Chamber of Commerce. Once in Clovis, she checks in with her widowed friend Mae King, a local dairy farmer. Sasha soon discovers Mae has problems of her own.

There's a body in one of her stock tanks--a Singaporean aviator stationed at Cannon Air Force Base. Mae doesn't know who he is or what he was doing on her land. Mae also shares a secret with Sasha: Mae claims she was recently beamed aboard a space craft.
