The eleventh mystery to feature the formidable Claudia Seferius in which our heroine finds herself in deepest, darkest Gaul searching for the truth about the disappearance fo her father when she was but a child. In the area in which she is staying a number of young women have gone missing and suspicion falls on a mysterious woodman called The Scarecrow. Claudia is not convinced.
