Adam's boss, Carson, is in hospital after a mysterious attack. Adam is left (at only 18) to run the centre for birds of prey, but finds he unexpectedly has to take Carson's place on a trip to Turkey followed by another to the US. In both countries he is attacked and very nearly killed.
