Looking for a Looking Glass

Shelby's just starting to adjust to her new life in Massachusetts -- a new school, new classmates, and cold weather -- when she finds herself in the middle of a very strange mystery. A precious magnifying glass was stolen! It disappeared from the Museum of History during the Mystery Ball, a party thrown by the Sherlock Society, a group of amateur sleuths and mystery buffs.

Shelby lines up the suspects: Mary Longstreet, the society's president, arranged the ball and had the best opportunity to plan the heist. She's also desperate for dollars to keep her magazine afloat. Everett Hood pulled his money from Mary's magazine when he lost the election for Sherlock Society president. Perhaps he wants to ruin her reputation. Or could it have been Professor Lance Pickett, an avid collector of historical memorabilia?

Can Shelby and her new friends Angie and Vince solve the case of the missing magnifying glass? Or are these mystery buffs just way too mysterious?
