An eccentric artist has his eyes on Miss Seeton's cottage for his newest work: a chocolate-covered house. Miss Seeton has a soft spot for chocolate, but not when it's covering her beloved cottage. An no amount of money or publicity will make her change her mind. Even when the obstinate artist keeps sweetening the deal... Meanwhile, the local Plummergen police have been busy investigating the unexpected deaths of otherwise healthy elderly residents - all who had used the services of a certain asphalt company. And though she's being stalked by the confectionery sculptor, it's up to Miss Seeton and her trusty sketch pad to discover who is paving the patch to ruin for Plummergen's senior citizens...
