When photographer Martin Chandler found a white Mercedes bathed in blood in a rural lay-by, he should have driven on. But he didn't. When an axe-wielding maniac attacked him in a ruined church and fled screaming, he should've written it off to experience. But Martin followed. When he found the white Mercedes in a ditch and the maniac offered to pay damages, he should've said thanks - but no thanks. But he gave his address.
