A dramatic fantasy based on the anguished life of Alice James (1848-92), the sister of William and Henry James. She merges imaginatively with Lewis Carroll's Alice at a tea-party at which Alice is counselled by Emily Dickinson, Margaret Fuller, and two angry women from the 19th-century stage.
