When a vision tells Abbot Bonifaccio that a gift is on its way, he is determined to be prepared. A bejewelled cross is found on a patient in the infirmary and, convinced this is the gift, the abbot is determined to keep it. Then Abbot Bonifaccio is found murdered and the cross disappears.
