While exploring his late wife's estate in England, actor Simon Garrett unwittingly steps through a gateway to the past and finds himself in 1816. When he materializes out of thin air in front of Miss Darby Brightings, she assumes Simon is her guardian angel. Simon doesn't correct her and soon find himself struggling to unravel a murder plot.
