Garland Scarsdale is driving home to see her family for Christmas when her car goes off in a ditch in an unfamiliar small town. The handsome stranger who owns that ditch has no idea that his offer to help will lead to a holiday stranded together in the snow.

Paul McKellar has retreated to a rental cabin to finish his book. While he’s on a tight deadline, he’s also trying to forget about the holiday. His mother’s surprise death happened just a year earlier, and the holidays will never be the same.
