"I always suspected I was different, but I had no idea how different." This is the first line from this exciting new series about five teens created in a secret cloning experiment on a mysterious yacht. Something went wrong with the experiment and now one of the doctors is trying to hide the evidence by killing off each clone. The teens are now 15 years old and living in different parts of the country. They have no idea they are clones. One day a strange boy named Chase approaches a clone named Varina, telling her she is in danger. She doesn't believe him at first; in fact she thinks he is nuts. But after her house is vandalized, her uncle is left for dead and an aunt she didn't even know she had tries to drug her, Varina decides Chase's story just might have some truth to it. Soon Chase and Varina are off to try and to find the other clones before it's too late. I am not a series reader but from the first page I was pulled into this and I am looking forward to the next book. This series should prove to be popular with the middle school and early high school crowd. Reviewer: Jamie Lyn Weaver; YA Libn., Geneva P.L., Geneva, IL, May 2000
