Blood Warriors

(1984)
A novel by

Black Shield and Jim Tallman had nothing in common but their age. Shield was a warrior of the Blood clan of the Blackfoot; Jim, the runaway son of a brutal Army major. But the Indian had had a vision of a white warrior on a black horse and when he found Jim camped by the river's edge, he brought him into the tribe.

Hunted by the soldiers, and not fully accepted by the tribe, Tall Man grew up between two warring worlds, belonging to neither. All he had was the promise of Black Shield's vision - someday the two warriors would be brothers.

What the young white warrior didn't know about Black Shield's vision, though, was that it was also filled with fire... and blood!
