The High House is a strange and mystical place, filled with magical books, secret passageways and corridors, some of which lead to entire other Kingdoms. The House is alive and has a soul, and it chooses its own Master. That Master must maintain not only the House, but the world itself, keeping it safe from the forces of evil.
Now, the magical cornerstone of the High House has been stolen by The Man in the dark, who creates his own False House which will grow and eventually control the universe. The very structure of the High House and its inner kingdoms change, becoming caricatures of their former selves, and the House's Master, Carter Anderson, must face incredible dangers, with his step brother Duskin, to retrieve the cornerstone and thus return the High House to its original state.
