Hall Goes East

(2021)
(Book 14 in the Lakeland Murders series)
A novel by

Recently retired detectives Andy Hall, Ian Mann and forensic ace Sandy Smith are back, but there's a twist. Because when the Chief Constable of Northumbria contacts Hall to ask for help investigating an OCG (Organised Crime Group) with links to the police themselves Andy and co. are instantly back on the case. And when the Chief is found dead on a Northumberland beach - an apparent suicide - the Lakeland Murders duo are drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

In this novel Hall and Mann face an adversary with limitless resources and an utter absence of conscience or remorse. But the odds are evened when Hall recruits the one person in Northumbria police who he knows he can trust, a young woman whose policeman father died in identical circumstances to the Chief, and Ian Mann calls some old pals back to the colours - with explosive results.

Hall goes East builds to a thrilling conclusion, and although some of the locations may be unfamiliar to Salkeld fans, Hall, Mann, Sandy Smith and their new friends offer readers the usual Salkeld blend of friendship, banter, bravery and intelligence. And, although written during lockdown, this novel is a blissfully Covid free zone.
