Anne Smith's death had been sudden and unexpected. She and Robert Smith had been married 38 years, and to all their friends the couple had seemed forever inseparable. To console Robert (and themselves), several of his longtime friends decided to take this still young-at-heart widower off to St. Tropez, to soothe his grief in the warm French sun.
