Deputy Sheriff Cole Paston suspects that Floyd Kennedy is behind the trouble that festers in Bolton County, Kansas. The son of Buck Kennedy, the biggest rancher in the county, Floyd was jailed for three years for trying to kill Cole's brother Mart. To complicate matters further, Kennedy wants to take over the Paston ranch for Floyd, who's due for release from prison.
