CAROLINE SMAILES lives in the North West of England. Her latest publication, The Drowning of Arthur Braxton, is her fifth novel.

Caroline has appeared at Latitude Festival, HowTheLightGetsIn Festival in Hay, Nottinghams Festival of Words, Ashton Festival, Short Stories Aloud in Oxford, The Firestation Book Swap in Windsor, Word Girl: Women Writers Festival in Brighton, Chester Literature Festival, Brindley Readers Day and others. She has been interviewed by and talked about on various radio stations across the UK, given talks in libraries and bookshops all over the UK (and even at a golf club), as well as appearing on TV in Malta and on BBC Breakfast.

Thanks to Arts Council England Time to Write funding, Caroline has recently completed her sixth novel.
