Year two of Asteria's training at the Royal Military Academy is pivotal for her career: she will either pass Pilot Qualification and join the Space Fleet or be relegated to a support role. But then her friend Dai introduces Asteria to the Shadow Squadron, a secret society working to end discrimination against commoners. Meanwhile, Asteria's home planet has fallen under the rulership of Aristocratic Admiral Vodros. Asteria has a choice to make-one that will set the course of her future.
