When Jill Mortimer is persuaded to leave city life for Dorset, she has no idea how her life will change. Jill and Douglas enjoy the challenge of renovating their cottage, and remain aloof from village society. But when Jill is suddenly left to face the future alone, the rural dream becomes a nightmare. As she contemplates returning to the city, she is reluctantly dragged into the village dramatics society and encounters more drama off-stage than on.
