Not much happens in 14-year-old Callie McCallan's sleepy town. So when the famous band Brass Rat schedules a concert in the Valley, it's big news. As a reporter for her school paper, Callie scores a backstage pass to interview lead singer Peter Gringras. When Peter plays his flute, it's like he has some kind of hypnotic power. But there's something strange about the band that Callie can't quite put her finger on. Then Callie's little brother and all the other children disappear - and Callie thinks she knows why. To rescue them, she will be forced down a road to a mythical world, from which there may be no return.
