(2021)
A Hood Love in New Orleans
A novel by

Adisa grew up with a 'crazy voodoo lady' for a grandmother. At least, that's what most people called her. Adisa knew early on that her grandmother was different, and it didn't bother her. Once she discovered that she too was different in a traumatizing way, Adisa wasnt sure how to feel. After her family suffered a tragic loss, it was then that her grandmother pointed out to her the man that caused their heartbreak. It was beat into Adisa's head that this man and everyone in his family were to be her sworn enemy. As time passes, Adisa finds herself trying to shake off bad feelings and please those around her while barely finding time for herself. Finally, she meets a man that's able to put a smile on her face but it doesn't take her long to realize that they could never be.

Brichelle and Adisa are best friends because they can be themselves around each other. Brichelle has already experienced one person walking away from her because she is different through no fault of her own. In an attempt to avoid that again, she chooses to never become comfortable enough with a person for them to find out who she really is, but is that how she really wants to live her life? In this Halloween short story, you will find that witches need love too.
